Since our founding in the late 1700s, the Brethren in Christ family has produced statements on doctrine and organizational structure.
The Manual of Doctrine and Government is intended to promote deeper spirituality, cooperation, and unity across our global community. The manual is divided into the following sections:
- Constitution — presents basic outline of our purpose, belief, structure, and function.
- Articles of Faith and Doctrine — expresses our doctrinal stance on important topics.
- Core Values — reflect Christ’s call in our lives, shaping our identity and moving us to action.
- Bylaws — provide guidelines for the Church’s life together.
Each edition of the Manual of Doctrine and Government follows the revisions of previous editions. We work to keep this manual relevant, as we seek to foster a fellowship of believers whose objective is to worship and obey the triune God and to proclaim his gospel to all people.
