Ministry Description

Mechanicsburg Community Church (MCC) is seeking an Administrative Assistant with gifts of administration and leadership, strong communication skills and a love for the church family of MCC. We are looking for a follower of Christ with strong character and a vibrant and growing spiritual life; a person who is teachable and able to support our staff, leaders, and the church well. 

The position is part-time, averaging 8-10 hours per week, working Sundays preferred, Tuesday and Friday/Saturday mornings required onsite with remaining hours work-from-home. 

Accountable To—MCC Lead Pastor 
The mission of MCC is to: Pursue a Relationship with God, Live Like Jesus Together, and to Go, Love, Serve and Care. 

Qualifications 

  • Committed to growing in Christ through prayer, Scripture reading and community with other believers. 
  • Committed to the church’s mission and philosophy of ministry and regularly attends Sunday worship services at a local congregation, preferably at MCC. 
  • Possess the spiritual gifts, abilities and temperament needed for the position. 
  • Has a teachable spirit. 
  • Demonstrates a clear sense of God’s call to the position. 
  • Works well with MCC Pastor, staff, and with volunteer leaders and teams. 
  • Strong relational, administrative, computer/web/social media, and communication (especially written) skills. 
  • A self-starter who takes initiative. 
  • Committed to professional growth and development. 
  • Is able to provide personal transportation to pick up supplies, etc. 

Primary Responsibilities 

  • Provide administrative support for MCC and MCC staff.
    • (Including but not limited to the creation of weekly bulletins and slides for screen on Sunday morning, maintaining website and social media accounts, financial record keeping, graphic design, and periodic email communication for church family.) 
  • Schedule and support Sunday morning set-up teams. 
  • Schedule and support Sunday morning hospitality ministry and volunteers. 
  • Partner with MCC staff and volunteer leaders in project management and event coordination.
    • (Including but not limited to booking venues, purchasing supplies, and organizing the setup and break down.) 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
