Part-Time Youth Pastor

The Youth Pastor at Upland Brethren In Christ Church serves as the spiritual leader for the youth. There focus is on creating a Christ-Centered environment that supports spiritual growth, leadership development and community engagement.

Overview

• Aim to expand the reach of the ministry by pursuing opportunities to establish a Christian club at other schools in the area.
• Form and lead teams of students to reach out to their peers on campus through Bible Studies, prayer groups, and outreach activities.
• Develop and train students to take on leadership roles in the Christian clubs and on campus, equipping them to mentor their peers and share their faith.
• Provide regular Bible Teachings to students on campus , either through meetings, one-on-one discipleship, or other outreach methods.
• Encourage students to live out their faith.

Key Responsibilities

Curriculum and Teaching

• Plan and prepare teaching material for youth ministry activities, including Sunday mornings, and Wednesday nights.
• Develop a comprehensive teaching plan for the year that aligns with the church mission and helps foster spiritual growth.

Teaching and Leadership

• Lead youth services on Sundays and Wednesdays, engaging students with impactful lessons that address their spiritual, emotional, and relational needs.
• Mentor students individually and in small groups, providing guidance on their faith journey.
• Plan and organize various youth events throughout the year (e.g. retreats, social events, and service opportunities).

Youth Leadership Development

• Recruit, train and develop student leaders who can help mentor their peers and lead in various areas of the youth ministry.
• Provide regular coaching and feedback to youth leaders, equipping them with tools to succeed in their roles.
