Explore Our Redesigned Website

by Salynda Hogsett

Today, I’m excited to share something that we’ve been working on for about a year: the newly designed BICUS.org!

When we were designing this website, we had two key audiences in mind.

The first was our Brethren in Christ family. We really wanted this website to be a tool that can be used for everything from looking up our Core Values, checking a theological belief, registering for an event or class, or even finding a video to use at a church event.

The second audience we had in mind was people exploring who the Brethren in Christ are. They could be a family visiting a BIC church for the first time or a pastor applying for a job at one of our congregations. We really wanted the website to speak to the unique identity we share as brothers and sisters.

There’s a lot to discover in this new website – and I will let you do that exploring on your own! But I want to highlight two features that I’m especially excited about:

  1. Expanded Resources Page – We’ve been creating resources for our congregations for a long time now, and we’re thrilled to have a well-organized place for them to live. All resources are free and easily accessible.
  2. Seamless Translation – Our website has always been available in English and Spanish to serve the growing number of Spanish-speaking congregations and members across the U.S. With this redesign, we incorporated new software to make translation seamless for users and to ensure translations are up to date. About 95% of our website is currently available in both English and Spanish, and we’re working over the next year to get that final 5% completed.

We spent a year working on this website, and I am so happy that it is finally out and available to you all. I truly hope that it is a blessing to you, to our congregations, and to our broader BIC family.
