Job Summary

The Auditorium Campus Pastor will provide leadership, connections, discipleship, and care for the Auditorium community of The Meeting House. This full-time position will require a firm grasp of the vision and priorities of TMH, a proven track record of building teams, shepherding congregants, as well as leading and collaborating with other TMH staff and volunteers. Responsibilities

Pastor the Auditorium campus:

  • Primary shaper of culture of welcome, values, and mission of TMH.
  • Working with other staff to assure Sunday morning services are creatively planned.
  • Lead venue staff: monthly campus meetings and bi-weekly/monthly one-on-ones.
  • Preach within the rhythms of the team preaching model.
  • Establish and Lead a venue specific leadership group.
  • Oversee the holistic discipleship opportunities of the auditorium campus.

Facilitate connections with church-wide ministry:

  • Collaborate and maintain regular communication with the Lead Pastor, Campus Pastors, and other staff to support TMH-wide and venue-specific ministry efforts.
  • Connect Auditorium members and attenders with TMH ministries and opportunities for service to the campus.
  • Execute other duties assigned by the Lead Pastor depending on gifts, capacity and passions of the campus pastor and the needs of TMH.

Provide ongoing care for Auditorium community:

  • Ensure the development and continued improvement of care ministries to serve the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of members/attenders, including routine and emergency hospital visitation.
  • Appropriately and expediently respond to and/or follow-up on crisis situations; participate in TMH on-call pastoral rotation; provide counsel and facilitate care for Auditorium community members in times of crisis.

Requirements

Education & Experience

  • 5+ years pastoral experience and/or other vocational church ministry, including preaching/teaching and oversight of staff/volunteers and experience with care-related ministry
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or seminary
  • Belief in Anabaptist thought on Jesus, Scripture, two-kingdom theology, the peace position and community, as well as the Core Values and Articles of Faith and Doctrine of the Brethren in Christ U.S.
  • Credentialed (or willing to be) by the Brethren in Christ U.S.
  • Computer proficiency; able to relate to and participate in social media; comfortable using email and other web-based systems for inter-office communications
