The BIC Navajo Mission located on the high desert plains of northwestern New Mexico. Currently, we have fourteen buildings sitting on 303 acres including a gymnasium, a public laundromat and public showers, a food pantry, a K-12 Accelerated Christian Education school, a shop for minor repairs and tire changing, a mini conference center and housing for groups and staff. We also have a public water station for those in our community who have no running water which is over half of our community population.

Position Summary
The Director serves as the chief executive and spiritual leader of the mission, providing comprehensive
oversight of staff, programs, facilities, finances, and fundraising efforts. The Director works in close
partnership with the Board and denominational leadership to ensure the mission remains faithful to its
Christian values, operationally sound, and positioned for long-term sustainability.
Primary Responsibilities
- Leadership & Organizational Oversight
- Provide overall leadership and direction for the mission.
- Supervise and manage all paid staff and unpaid volunteers.
- Foster a healthy, mission-centered organizational culture grounded in accountability, clarity, and
respect. - Ensure staff roles, expectations, and performance evaluations are clearly defined and consistently
applied.
- Staff Management & Human Resources
- Hire, supervise, evaluate, and when necessary, release staff members.
- Select and recommend candidates for all paid positions.
- Recruit, train, and oversee volunteer personnel.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws, internal policies, and denominational guidelines.
- Oversee onboarding, training, and professional development for staff and key volunteers.
- Facilities & Maintenance
- Ensure all mission buildings, grounds, vehicles, and equipment are properly maintained.
- Supervise maintenance staff and prioritize work orders.
- Ensure safety standards and preventative maintenance schedules are followed.
- Plan for long-term facility needs, repairs, and improvements.
- Financial Oversight
- Develop and manage the annual operating budget.
- Oversee all financial operations including bill payment, payroll oversight, and financial reporting.
- Supervise office staff responsible for financial transactions.
- Work closely with the Board Treasurer and finance committee.
- Ensure financial transparency and accountability.
- Fundraising & Development
- Raise funds to support mission operations and long-term sustainability.
- Develop fundraising strategies through partnerships, donor communication, grants, and special projects.
- Represent the mission publicly and professionally.
- Travel and speak on behalf of the mission as needed.
- Board Relations & Governance
- Serve as primary liaison between staff and the Board.
- Attend and report at Board meetings.
- Implement Board-approved policies and strategic decisions.
- Program Development & Oversight
- Develop, oversee, and evaluate mission programs.
- Ensure programs align with Christian values and strategic goals.
- Oversee school operations and community outreach.
- Church Leadership & Pastoral Oversight
- If not serving as Pastor, work with the Midwest Bishop to select a Pastor.
- If serving as Pastor, provide spiritual leadership and coordinate with the Midwest Bishop.
