Lead Pastor

Big Valley Brethren in Christ Church is a congregation located Belleville, PA, situated in the beautiful Juniata River Valley. The Valley is an entrepreneurial and self-sustaining, rural community which reflects the conservative values and influence of the many Amish and Mennonite families living here. Many people who were raised in The Valley are returning for retirement, and younger families are choosing to make the quiet countryside and religious community home as well.

Our church building is situated in the heart of Belleville, right down the street from city ball fields. We are a long-established congregation of 40-50 people that value strong biblical teaching and traditional worship. We are known to be a deeply sincere and caring church family with a desire to see others come to know the saving grace of Jesus in their lives.

Our congregation is seeking a lead pastor who demonstrates a vibrant personal walk with Jesus and who embraces our community, looking for ways to make connections in The Valley. We desire a pastor who can provide prayerful, Spirit-led preaching and teaching firmly rooted in the Word of God. We are also looking for a candidate with maturity and vision, able to help our congregation develop a plan for more effectively ministering to our neighbors. A pastor who is warm and compassionate will be a good fit for our congregation and community.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate an active personal walk with the Lord
• Provide engaging, Bible-based preaching
• Provide care and counsel for individuals and families
• Identify, equip, and engage new disciples and leaders
• Lead the congregation in clarifying and implementing vision and mission
• Pursue community connections

Requirements

• Have, or be willing to obtain, a Brethren in Christ pastoral credential
