Bethel BIC Church is a small congregation with an average attendance of about 25-30 people. It is in Southwest Virginia in Carroll County near the small town of Hillsville. Bethel has owned and operated a non-profit daycare center, named Noah’s Ark Daycare, for about 30 years. It has a fully functioning program offering care for infants and children up to age 12. It operates twelve hours a day, Monday through Friday. Our daycare ministry is our link to and presence in the community.

We are seeking a part-time bi-vocational lead pastor.

Expectations

The pastor must:

  1. Have a divine call to pastoral ministry.
  2. Demonstrate an active personal walk with the Lord.
  3. Provide engaging, Bible-based preaching and teaching.
  4. Provide care and counsel for individuals and families.
  5. Lead the congregation in outreach to our community.
  6. Have or be willing to obtain Brethren in Christ pastoral credentials.

Responsibilities

  1. Lead Sunday Services, both worship and Sunday school.
  2. Assist the Board of Directors in the administrative leadership of the church and daycare by attending and being involved in the BOD monthly meetings.
  3. Be present and involved in special church functions and activities.
  4. Lead and be involved in community outreach.
  5. Be physically present during daycare operations (a minimum of one day/week) to provide support, encouragement, and guidance for the director and staff.

Time/Salary

  1. Our goal is to have the pastor serve 20-25 hours weekly.
  2. Salary is negotiable.
