Pastoral Summer Intern

About

West Side Brethren in Christ Church in Chambersburg, Pa., is seeking a dedicated Pastoral Summer Intern to support our ministry team in serving our congregation and community. This paid internship is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in pastoral leadership, discipleship, and church operation while growing spiritually and professionally.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and leading worship services, including scripture readings, prayers, announcements, and occasional preaching opportunities.
• Support pastoral care efforts by visiting and praying with church members.
• Help lead and organize youth, children’s’, or small group ministries.
• Assist in planning and executing summer events, outreach programs, and community service initiatives.
• Participate in church administration, including bulletins, newsletters, and social media updates.
• Engage in personal spiritual development through mentorship with pastoral staff.
• Attend staff meetings and contribute to ministry discussions.

Qualifications

• A committed follower of Jesus Christ with a heart for ministry
• Enrolled in or recently graduated from a theological, ministry, or Christian studies program.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• A heart for serving people of all ages and backgrounds.
• A willingness to be flexible and take on various ministry tasks.
