In partnership with U.S. congregations and individuals, we celebrate that Tony and Veronica Beers, along with their daughters Lilliana and Natasha, deployed to Zambia, July 18, 2018, for a three-year term.
Thank you for walking alongside the Beers through your prayers and financial support.
Partnering with the BIC Church in Zambia, Tony will be conducting development work, such as water and agricultural projects, with the BIC Zambia Compassionate Ministries Office, based in Choma, Zambia. An engineer, Tony has experience working across Africa, having led water-related research and construction projects in communities with Mennonite Central Committee, Messiah College, and World Vision.
A nurse with experience in community health, mental health, and addiction, Veronica will also be partnering with the Compassionate Ministries Office — joining existing health-care systems to further serve the community of Choma and surrounding areas.
The following Scripture has been significant to the Beers as they prepare for their ministry in Zambia:
“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me,
Because the Lord has anointed me
To bring good news to the afflicted;
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to captives
And freedom to prisoners” (Isaiah 61:1 NASB).
“We’re thankful for your support as we partner with the BIC Church in Zambia,” said Tony and Veronica.
As they adapt to their new environment, here are a few ways to pray for them:
- Strength and patience as their young family adjusts to multiple moves and new cultures
- Zeal and ability for learning local languages
- Ability to develop friendships quickly within the Choma community
- Great relationships with the Compassionate Ministries Office and Zambian Church leadership
We are grateful we can partner with Tony and Veronica in sharing the message of the gospel in Zambia.
