Part-Time Director of Communications
Elizabethtown BIC (Elizabethtown, PA)
This position oversees the church’s communication strategy and front office administrative duties. This person will work closely with the Director of Operations and Lead Pastor to pursue the church’s mission, culture, and values.
Qualifications

- Ability to strategically plan, sequence, and execute a multifaceted communication strategy that integrates both digital and printed materials
- Tech-savvy and growing knowledge of trends in social media, communication, and design
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including fine editing/copywriting and a keen eye for layout design, colors, and presentation
- Proficiency in various communication, graphic, and office platforms such as Canva, Microsoft 360, Ekklesia360, Planning Center, Mailchimp, etc.
- Experience and knowledge of audio-visual production and broadcasting of a worship service
- Not required but desired—church or non-profit communications/marketing experience and graphic design experience
- Agreement with the Brethren in Christ Core Values and BIC Articles of Faith and Doctrine
Responsibilities
Communication Duties
- Develop and implement a church-wide communication strategy that reflects EBIC’s culture, values, and mission.
- Oversee all aspects of EBIC’s communications, including print, digital, online, electronic, and social media.
- Set strategy, creative vision, project management standards, and measures for communication initiatives, outreach, and promotion.
- Cultivate, lead, and manage a volunteer Communication Team (writing, editing, photography, videography, design, social media, etc.) to help implement our communications strategy.
- Write, edit, and design fresh, engaging content for regular communication vehicles, including website, bulletins, and social media.
- Film and edit announcements, bumpers, testimonies, and other videos as needed.
- Work with other staff on special projects and service/event promotion as needed.
- Prepare and ensure compliance with the communication budget.
Front Office Duties
Present during office hours Monday-Thursday (9 am – 1 pm)
- Provide a hospitable welcome to those who enter our doors during office hours.
- Perform administrative tasks such as answering phones, interacting with church members and visitors, crafting/responding to emails, printing materials, and ordering office supplies as needed.
- Oversee the church database, ensuring up-to-date member profiles and effective ministry integration.
- Prepare and ensure compliance with the church office budget.
Hours: 30 hrs./wk. (Monday-Thursday, Sunday) and some weeknight responsibilities
