In partnership with generous U.S. congregations and individuals, we celebrate Sophie T.* having deployed to Thailand on January 20, 2018, for a three-year term.

BIC U.S. World Missions began sending global workers to Thailand 30 years ago, and we are thankful Sophie joins us as our newest team member in Thailand: Thank you for walking alongside Sophie through your prayers and financial support.

During her first year, Sophie is attending language school full time to effectively minister in the Thai language. A teacher by training, Sophie will be teaching English and building relationships with students upon completing her studies in Thai.

Sophie also joins a church-planting team of Thai Christians and interns, as well as another BIC U.S. World Missions global worker. The team has been helping establish a church-planting movement among a least-reached people group in Thailand. (Least-reached peoples are populations less than 2 percent evangelical Christian.)[1]

“I have been blessed by your prayers and your support; it’s such an incredible privilege to take part in ministry with our BIC U.S. family,” said Sophie.

As Sophie adapts to her new environment, here are a few ways to pray for her:

  • Language acquisition, as well as connections with conversation partners
  • The start of friendships and fellowship
  • Focus on Jesus amid many ministry commitments

We are grateful that, together, we can partner with Sophie in sharing the message of the gospel in Thailand.
