“Brethren in Christ communications exist to declare our vision, promote our mission, teach our values, encourage our dialogue, and strengthen our bonds of trust.”

This statement, adopted by Leadership Council in July 1998, still encapsulates the purpose of the BIC U.S. communications team. Recently, the team received three awards from the Evangelical Press Association celebrating their efforts and accomplishments.

  • Blog: Website – First Place, Higher Goals in Christian Journalism. The judge said, “This blog for Brethren in Christ U.S. offers a great mix of feature content…. The inclusion of content from missions work around the world really showcases what they are doing internationally.”
  • Long-form Video – Second Place for “Finding Home,” Higher Goals in Christian Journalism. This 20-minute documentary highlights the challenging journeys of refugees in Greece and examines how BIC U.S. World Missions seeks to meet physical and spiritual needs. The judge said, this video “finishes with an extremely compelling, thoughtful story arc” and a “quiet but clear” call to action. Watch the documentary trailer.
  • Denominational (digital) – Award of Merit for bicus.org, Awards of Excellence.

The BIC U.S. communications team is honored to receive such recognition from accomplished professionals in Christian communication and journalism. As laid out in 1998, the communications team will continue to tell stories that encourage, edify, and equip the Brethren in Christ in the U.S. and around the world.
