Assistant Pastor – Mandarin & English Speaking

Gateway Karis Church is a multicultural congregation ministering in the Chino, Chino Hills, Eastvale, and Ontario areas of southern California. Planted over 105 years ago, the church is part of the Brethren in Christ U.S. denomination and is comprised of 40% Chinese (Mainland, Taiwanese, and Hong Kong), 30% Korean, and 30% black, white, and Hispanic.

We are looking for an Assistant Pastor who will lead weekly sermons and Bible studies in Mandarin in conjunction with topics covered by the Lead Pastor. This role will work under the direction of a pastoral supervisor assigned by the Lead Pastor. Weekly staff/discipleship meetings will also be part of this ministry role. The Assistant Pastor should affirm the theology of and seek ministerial credentialing with the Brethren in Christ U.S.

Cantonese and Taiwanese language skills are helpful but not required. Some Bible college and/or seminary training is desired but a completed seminary degree is not necessary. Remuneration starts at $40,000/yr.
